Teachers of the Mongolia-Japan Center for Human Resources Development and students from Japan’s “Tohoku University of Public Administration” who are interning in Mongolia jointly organized a cultural event introducing Japanese national games and toys.
At this event, our school’s 5th-grade students took part and got acquainted with traditional Japanese games such as Kendama, Ayatori, Ton Ton Sumo, and Hanafuda, and they tried playing them themselves and spent a fun day together.
The Japanese students doing their internship said that this was their first time coming to Mongolia, and through this event they were able to see and experience firsthand the high level at which Japanese language education is being conducted in general education schools. They also expressed that they were very happy to have spent their time productively by introducing aspects of their country’s culture to children who are eagerly studying Japanese.
